About us
“A safe and supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to reach their potential”
When a pupil is having difficulties in a mainstream school and might be (or has been) permanently excluded they may be referred to a Pupil Referral Unit.
The Bridge is a Key Stage 3 and 4 Pupil Referral Unit supporting students, families and schools across Halton.
We teach the same National Curriculum and offer the same level of qualifications as a mainstream school. We also support pupils to address their emotional and behavioural barriers to learning.
Life at The Bridge School brings opportunities for qualifications, learning, new experiences, self-exploration, developing citizenship and being a positive member of our communities.
Welcome to The Bridge School
Your safe place: your place to learn and grow.

Aarron Stafford
Headteacher
Our responsibility is clear: to keep you safe, to guide you, and to provide the nurture, care, and education that will help you grow into a confident, secure, and capable young person — ready for the challenges that life may bring.
We are committed to helping you progress in your learning, and we will provide a peaceful, happy school environment where you can thrive.
But this is a shared journey.
Just as we have responsibilities to you, you have commitments too. The most important of these is the same for everyone in our community:
To respect the rights of others — your fellow students, the staff, and the school itself.
When we all uphold this value, we create a safe, supportive place where learning can truly happen.
Our ethos is simple but powerful:
‘Strength through support, success through respect’
Whether you are with us for a short time or a longer journey, whether you’re preparing for a new school, college, training or work — we are here to help you get ready.
Our vision is that when you leave The Bridge School, you are more confident, more independent, and more aware of yourself and others than when you arrived.
We look forward to working with you.
