PSHE/Life
Key Stage 3
Key Stage 3
PSHE / Life
Whilst there is currently no qualification attached to PSHE or Life Program, it is a key part of our whole school curriculum, and imperative to our learners developing a strong sense of self, a broadened understanding of the world around them and becoming informed to make the best decisions they can as they grow up. Our intent within PSHE is to cover the most pressing issues for our learners whilst also allowing opportunities to develop many interpersonal skills that will be able to utilise and take with them when progress from the bridge, either during Years 7-11 or once they have transitioned to their Post-16 pathways.
KEY STAGE 3
Learners In Key Stage 3 are taught a 30 minute PSHE lesson each morning. This allows for staff to cover a wider range of topics whilst also allowing opportunities for external agencies to visit (such as the School Nurse or Queensbury Child Criminal Exploitation support) wherever possible. These lessons cover a wide range of relevant topics and prove invaluable in encouraging the development of respectful relationships within our classrooms between leaners and their peers and teaching and learning staff.
