Alternative Provision
Alternative Provision
At the Bridge School we are committed to ensuring that all learners accessing Alternative Provision (AP) receive high-quality education, support, and safeguarding. Our Quality Assurance (QA) framework measures the extent to which our external provisions, whether registered or unregistered, meet high standards for Safeguarding, curriculum, and progress.
Our QA processes include:
- Rigorous Vetting & Compliance – All alternative providers undergo thorough checks, including safeguarding policies, staff DBS clearance, health & safety assessments, and curriculum suitability.
- Ongoing Monitoring & Review – We conduct regular site visits, lesson observations, and learner feedback sessions to ensure provision aligns with school values, SEND requirements, and behaviour expectations.
- Safeguarding & Welfare Oversight – Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) maintains close communication with providers to ensure that attendance, behaviour, and emotional well-being are monitored effectively. Any safeguarding concerns are escalated in line with government and school guidance.
- Training and Support – Our Alternative Providers receive targeted safeguarding training, and have routine access to whole school training.
By maintaining high expectations and structured oversight, we ensure that alternative provision is not just a placement, but a meaningful educational experience that empowers learners to succeed.
