Physical Education

Key Stage 4

Key Stage 4
P.E

Physical Education is a key part of our whole school curriculum from both a learning aspect and as a physical outlet for our learners. Our intent within Physical Education is to give students opportunities to develop a wide range of skills that come from partaking in group/team sports and Physical Education. Our curriculum intends to provide learners with the knowledge of how to maintain a healthy lifestyle whilst developing their interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills alongside various physical skills.

KEY STAGE 4

Until 2024 the KS4 curriculum offered learners the opportunity to gain a Level 1 BTEC in Introductory to Sports. Students actively engage in a BTEC Specialist work related qualification and have access to one full day of provision per week totalling four hours of learning time (which comprises of both theory/coursework and practical work). As of September 2024 we will transition to NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Sport which will provide learners with the opportunity to achieve a more comprehensive selection of qualifications in KS4 and therefore enhance and broaden their prospective Post-16 opportunities.
