Duke of Edinburgh (DofE)

What is DofE?

The Duke of Edinburgh award is a globally recognised programme for people aged 14-24. The Bronze award will be completed during your time with us. You will work on four key areas (skill, physical, volunteering and expedition) to develop crucial life skills such as independence, resilience, determination and teamwork.

What can you expect?

• To engage in volunteer work, this could involve supporting the local communities ‘Mission Christmas Appeal’, helping at a local charity event or maybe even church.

• To complete a two-day, one night expedition using newly learned skills such as navigation, camp set-up and cooking.

• To learn new skills and practice using these effectively, for example this may be changing the brakes of a car or learning how to build a wall, mixing cement correctly and keeping it level!

• To develop your physical ability by taking part in sport. This could include climbing, bouldering, football, basketball, hiking or fitness training etc.

Why choose DofE?

DofE is a great choice if you:
