Attendance
Attendance at The Bridge School is everyone’s responsibility, and we work together with students, families, and staff to ensure every child has the best opportunity to succeed.
We believe that regular attendance is essential for learning, wellbeing, safeguarding, and positive outcomes for all students. Our approach is rooted in high expectations, strong relationships, and a commitment to understanding and removing barriers to attendance. We take a trauma-informed and solution-focused approach, recognising that some students may face complex challenges that affect their ability to attend school. Attendance is monitored carefully so that concerns can be identified early and support can be put in place quickly. We work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to develop practical plans that help students attend regularly and engage positively in learning. A range of support services, including pastoral, wellbeing, and keyworker support, are available to help students overcome difficulties. We also celebrate and reward good attendance, recognising both achievement and improvement. Where attendance concerns persist, we continue to provide support while ensuring families understand their legal responsibilities. Through partnership, understanding, and consistent expectations, we aim to help every student feel safe, valued, and ready to learn every day.
