At the Bridge School art and creativity is a vital, therapeutic, and academic tool designed to re-engage learners, focusing on emotional regulation, self-expression, and building relationships. The curriculum, ranges from vocational arts, high-quality projects working with external specialist, allowing students to reduce emotional barriers while developing key skills for life.

  • Therapeutic and Emotional Support: Art is used as a medium to develop emotional literacy and communication, providing a “safe space” for pupils to explore their identity, regulate behaviour, and manage emotional barriers.
  • Diverse Activities: Programs often feature hands-on, engaging projects such as street art/graffiti workshops, textiles, screen printing, and sensory art activities like creating with salt dough and model making.
  • Building Engagement: Techniques include using open-ended creative tasks, offering choices, and allowing students to work on projects related to their own interests, which boosts self-efficacy.
