KEY STAGE 4
At The Bridge School, students studying IT will work to complete the BTEC Level 1 Introductory Award in IT. This will develop practical digital skills that prepare students for further study and future employment.
To complete the course students will produce coursework on the following 2 units:
Unit A2: Developing a Personal Progression Plan
In this unit, students will focus on understanding their own skills and behaviours and planning for their next steps at post 16. They will explore their personal strengths, interests, and qualities, using this to set a realistic goal after leaving The Bridge. It encourages learners to think about the post 16 pathways available to them, and to consider how their developing digital skills can support their next steps.
Unit IT6: Creating a Digital Product
Completing this unit gives students the opportunity to develop their digital skills across a variety of different communication platforms. Students will research the potential risks and benefits of social media and the impacts it can have on safety, health and wellbeing, they will also learn to use Microsoft office and Microsoft Teams to complete their coursework giving them digital skills that can be used in the future.
